Blowing out Coolant in block?

Swapping to a new bigger radiator... Got the old one pulled, new one is in but no hoses hooked up. I'd really like to flush the old shit outta the block first... Can I just pull the t-stat and hold a waterhose on the water pump hose to force water through the block and out the water neck hole?

I like to do it the other direction and let gravity help and let the old stuff flow out of the water pump where the lower hose goes .

No drains on the block? I forget my Ford stuff.

No block drain, just put the hose in the t stat housing
