  • speed density vs mass air tunes?

i just purchased a fuel injected sbf 89 fox with a procharger 1200br on it i noticed there are no o2 sensors. i am assuming this is a SD tune. it runs a little rich at idle and low speeds but its very responsive and wot is good. one wierd thing though is it still has a pro M mass air meter on the intake track! just thinking should i switch to MAF or just have more streetable SD tune done? any help appreciated this is my first forced induction car im a nitrous guy. lol

My 87 GT was speed density, and it had O2 sensors...

Is the MAF plugged into anything?

The computer is being forced to run in closed loop without O2s. Probably has a custom tune. Dose it have a chip pluged in the back of the computer?

And bring it out on Thursday to Sonic Dave.

What he^^^^^ meant to say was that its in open loop. There is absolutely no need to run open loop w/o oxygen sensors for any reason at all. Look for the original o2 connectors then check for voltage fluctuations. Get some oxygen sensors in there and get a real tune. The gas mileage will most likely improve by a large margin.

Sorry "open loop" is what I meant to say. And it is a viable tuning opption to run without O2 sensors. It has been suggested to me with a custom tune.

yep. but i didnt get it for fuel mileage. lol found tuner. its a custom tune. it has a big ass pro.m MAF on it that does nothing.lol its a good WOT tune.im doin a couple mods to intercooler plumbing, replacing fuel lines i should be ready for next thurday doug. i have a coupe nitrous car also it should be ready soon just gotta put my PAsuper comp c-4 in it it has a trashed T-5 in it. I talked to brooks gonna try to get on his dyno if it puts up decent #s i wont touch it.
