  • Ssbc or Brembo brakes for upgrade?

I've looked around online and noone has given a true answer as to which is better, ssbc customer support is horrible though.

Trying to upgrade brakes on stock 2012 gt without brembo.

Ssbc released a 14" 8 piston brake kit

Brembo still has the 4 piston

which should I purchase, this isn't going to be for racing or anything like that, stock brakes sucked and have the worst stopping power on any car i have owner ( last 3 cars had brembo brakes)

If you are not racing, stock brakes with good pads, it will make all the diff in the world.

not necessarily, when stepping on the brakes suddenly it takes it a long time to stop, even going 40 and coming to a complete stop lot of times it slids 4-5 feet.

I think you have bigger issues, BBK may fix it but yours should be fine IMO, unless you are overheating them, the pedal can get wooden or fade, not sure how you would be doing that unless you are doing 60-140 blasts over and over again on the highway. My 11 had Brembos but I rode with Don in his 11 with stock brakes and it ripped the eyes out of my sockets, I was very impressed.

I'm going to run these on the CMC car.

ssbc's are junk...pads are hard to find and well, they are junk.

Brembo's should be fine. Are you sure you don't have a bad master cylinder?

Stoptech is the way to go but there are other kits out there that are good too. Pads for stoptech's are easy to find.

personally, sounds like you have a bad M/C or crushed brake lines...or a big ass air bubble. The brembos on the car should be no problem to stop that thing.

Start with the basics. good fluid, good pads, bleed the brakes, good M/C, check for warped pistons....then start thinking about spending money on a BBK.
