What is the rule of thumb on hand tightening AN fittings? What about fasteners when you cant use a torque wrench?

With AN fittings on my race car I just snug them up pretty good. All of my shit is aluminum so I have to worry about stripping them. There are torque values, but I don't recall them off the top of my head. -
I found a spec by eaton (aeroquip) saying 1.5 - 2.0 flats on a -10 alum fitting, I felt like it was WAY too tight but it's been fine so far
