  • Cost of Tailpipes

I'm going to get some tailpipes put on this week. What would be a good price for the pipes/labor?

I'd post up and see if anyone has a set on the board. If you go to a muffler shop to have a set built, the bends in the pipe will be a reduced diameter which can cause a flow restrictions. A set of factory or aftermarket pipes will be a mandrel style bend which will give you the least amount of restriction.

I think that last time I bought just (mandrel bent) tail pipes they were around $100 and then to get them welded on it was probably $20-40. I think Mustangs Unlimited carries the pipes I got.

Depends on type of pipe and who installs them. I just scrapped several sets of OEM stainless steel pipes because no one would pay anything for them. Hell the last guy that asked for a set wouldn't give $50 for them. I said fuck it and had them all crushed.

I have a set that I bought off someone on here about two years ago that don't fit my FOX quite right. Leads me to believe that they are for '94 and newer.

Why are you having tailpipes put on? Just curious. While tailpipes look better on that car than having none, I'm gonna suggest you find out what muffler type you'd like, and but the catback exhaust kit that corresponds with that.

MustangsUnlimited does carry pipes for your car though. I haven't had a mustang in a while so I haven't used them in a while, but I've bought dozens of things from them, and it's always been good quality stuff, with fast shipping.

I'm going to run a muffler delete until I come up with mufflers I like. It's to quiet with the stock h. So I'm going to get them built to bolt straight to the midpipe, and when I choose mufflers I'll get the pipes modified for them. I'm trying to buy a rear end at the moment, so cash is tight. My girlfriend's dad might have a friend that could fab them pretty cheap.

I have stainless 2.5" tailpipes with 3.5" tips from my Magnapack catback if you're interested. I'm running dumps so they are like new.

You should be able to clear those with tailpipes. I'm not running any because they don't clear my MM panhard bar.
