  • Question about original Trickflow high ports.

I just bought a 95 GT vert to use as a donor car for a project I'm working on. The owner just installed a rebuilt shortblock. He installed a set of heads from Trickflow/KPI that were produced in Trickflow's infancy. I'm told these are the heads in which all other heads aspire to perform like. Sounds like a stretch to me, but I'm wondering if these heads are a great head and if they are worth using. One end of the head has Trickflow moulded into it while the other end has KPI on it in BIG letters. Any opinions? Thanks.

The old school Hi-Ports are the cat's meow! Seriously, nothing but good stuff has ever been said about those heads. If I ran across some at a decent price, I'd buy a car to build around them. If you let them go, let me know.

Its a good head. They have since made a few port changes and added material, but the older ones are still capable of making power.

I have a set of the older HP's on my coupe, it made 1150 pretty easily and was still climbing.

i have a set of the early iron high ports. tons of material for porting. bet they weigh 25 pounds more than a regular iron head. i like them because they are very stealthy.
