  • Better head gasket than 9333 for my motor?

Good friend of mine who is helping me do my H/C/I swap told me not to cheap out on head gaskets, sound advice. So I start searching and the 9333 seems to be a favorite and MANY people recommend it. I look it up and they're damn cheap... Any better ones for the money?

I'm only stock block, world products heads, systemax intake, longtubes, not sure on cam yet, and maybe a 100 shot twice a year (track day).

      I use 9333-1s

Many people use them, I'd much rather blow a head gasket then something else!

Just use a good arp fastener. Studs are best but bolts should be just fine.

if you use a bad a** gasket that doesn't fail in a given situation, the piston will likely be your next "fuse"

nothing wrong with a 9333, they work great.

8548 is a slightly thinner gasket, used to be a different composition than the 9333, but I think the composition is the same now

Ive made 1000hp with 9333's never had a problem with them blowing. Cracked the block yes, but never blew the head gasket.

Any situation in which a 9333 wouldn't be ideal?

Those gaskets are good for most situations. There are a couple other good ones, but are more expensive. The 1011-1 and 1011-2 are 'performance' gaskets and a bit thinner (if you were looking for a bump in CR).
