  • Clutch/flywheel advice.

Current set up lasted about 2 years, it was a center force df pressure plate and a Veleo clutch disk from az. It was a temp fix as the df disk only lasted a year.

As of late, it's been slipping after a gear change at wot but not any other time.

    So I'm taking it apart.

I have a lot of abuse on the flywheel, should I surface it, or replace it? Would the pressure plate be alright or just replace it with a stock az clutch set?

Not aposed to an aftermarket set but I'm not sure how long I'll be using a t5.

Can you still get warranties on clutches from parts stores?

A friend was poor and just kept abusing the exchange until he got the money for a good one.

Yes, that was the idea. I was wondering if the fly wheel would be okay and I'd like to still use the center force pressure plate but I'm not sure how they wear aside from the obvious.

As long as the flywheel isn't heat damaged it should be ok, have it resurfaced and roll on.

            That's awesome.

I figure at 315trq a stock clutch should be fine.

I wonder what they would do if I called them and told them my application. Would they hang up? Haha

Go with an aluminum wheel when it is time to replace it.

Just hate dropping coin on something I won't need as soon as I ditch this shortblock.

a pro stock car is using the slider clutch for the same reason you need one, not to let the engine fall below the correct rev range.

Clutch cost more than the damn car lol

Would a flywheel from autozone be alright? They're $35 after my discount and it's made In Mexico.

Brute force in the box brand and it says wohlert on the backside of the wheel. Looks good to the eye.

How do you figure. You can take the weight off if you 28oz or 0.

You can also replace the face. All around a great mod.

Wasn't thinking of it that way. Wouldn't reducing my flywheel mass increase bog off the line?
