  • 09 F350 block heater specs?

How warm should the engine get after the block heater has been plugged in all night?
Iv been plugging in my service truck at night and I cant tell it's working at all in the morning. It takes the same amount of time to warm up whether it was plugged in or not. The GMC I had would be warm enough to register about half way to normal operation on the coolant temp gauge.

Why are you plugging in your truck? I don't. I just let the glow plugs warm up for about 15-20 seconds when it's real cold outside and starts right up. I've read that you really don't need a block heater unless it's around 0 degree or below. Where are you located at?

Benbrook. I did it on my other truck so the heater wouldnt take so long to blow hot air. Worked great on my GMC. Not so much on the ford.

Hmmm...I don't know why it takes a while for you. But the other day up here in Melissa it got down to 11 degrees and it took my truck about 10-15 of driving for my truck to warm up to blow normal hot air which I'm find with that. It probably take less time if I went out there and started my truck up and let it idle for about 10 mins before I drive it.
