  • Vibration at high rpm...

Not sure exactly when it shows up, but if I get on it, and let off at a high rpm, I have a pretty nasty vibration. I feel it mostly through the gear shifter. I can put the car in neutral and it goes away... So I'm doubting is the drive shaft. Harmonic balancer?

    Yes, or pressure plate/flywheel.

How's your trans and motor mounts?

Will it do it in nuetral clutch engaged, disengaged?

Both mounts are new. Trans is a poly mount.

It stops if I push the clutch in and leave it in gear.

Next time you push in the clutch hold the RPM's up and see if it stays, if so balancer or clutch/pp. Or just rev it up in the driveway and see if it does it. That takes the drive line out of the equation.

If it goes away I would bet bad u joints. When you push in the clutch/take it out of gear (while rolling) you take the load off of anything in the tranny and anythign behind it. So I would be looking in that area.

Get under it and shake the drive shaft in all directions, look for play in the joints (bewtween the shaft and yokes), at the yoke where it enters the back of the trans, and at the pinion on the rear end.
