  • Battery or starter?

For nearly 2 months now, my Exploder has been harder and harder to start. I hadn't gotten around to taking the battery to AZ yet.

Today though, I started to wonder if it really is the battery. My experience with Ford starters is either it works or it don't. This being a permanent magnet starter, I wonder how they behave when they get weak?

I turn the key and it barely cranks 1, 2, 3 revolutions then it really picks up speed and I can keep it cranking. Seems just the opposite than with a bad battery. You'd think it would just konk out.

I'd load test the battery, check clean all connections and retry. Starters do get weak. Test it(starter) they can do it also at the parts store, if any signs replace that mofo, nothing sucks worse than a car that won't start on a cold morning.

Starter! reason its getting harder to start is the acuator is going out. you can have your battery checked , but its gonna check out ok ....get a starter.

Check connections and get the battery tested.
