What do downpipes run ? What kind of improvements do you see with them ?

Despite all the negative MPG reports, I averaged 21 on 190 yesterday to the airport and back, cruise at 70 and i managed 19 in the city this morning all the way down arapaho..im pretty pleased/

The 93 tune on my wifes MKt has picked her up 2mpg in "city" driving on this first tank compared to stock running 87. About to take a trip and see what it did for the highway.

that's impressive! a CCSB 4wd with a 300 tune will run a high 12. I didn't realize the ecoboost trucks were turning those kinds of numbers

I'd really like an eco and towing tune for my '13, but dont really want to modify the engine until warranty runs out. is there any benefit to just doing the tune without pipes and exhaust?

yes, just run a mild tune

even the canned 87 SCT tune is good for like 30-35rwhp

Yes the exhaust is 3" with straight through muffler, its honestly just for sound which in my opinion, these 6s sound like shit. The downpipes are good for another 30hp. My truck is basically stock with a tune, i just deleted the resonator as it really the only restriction in the exhaust(its a little smaller ID). With the t4 tune people are seeing gains of 100hp on stock trucks, but the throttle response and trans tuning are amazing!

For a tune, i think like 375-400 bucks is what i paid for the sct and three tunes.

Hell get on his site and make an account, he gives out free tunes all the time just to get his name out. Buy an sct from ebay or something for cheap and see what he charges just for tunes.

Yeah, lots of tune and exhaust and intake trucks in the high 12s.

Honestly a tune is by far the best bang for your buck. They'll tell you that they can see a " footprint" if you tune it blah, blah, blah. It's all BS. Just take off the tune and get a 50 mile drive cycle in and you're good. The SSI tunes have so much data logging on them that they are super safe.
Catted down pipes run about 800 but you pick up some impressive gains even with the stock exhaust. That's probably going to be my next mod.

What's the model number of your tuner? If it's a 3000 or 3015 you can just order the tunes from Shaun.

Just curious but would any of these mild tunes void the warranty?
