  • Going in a straight line is fun and all but..

I want my mustang be have a little more grip in the corners, I still want to be able to have ok launches at the strip but it's more fun to drive in the twistys everyday on the way to work.

What can be done to help keep my car tighter in the corners?

I'm building up my car a little at a time so I'm pretty much piecing together maximum motorsports max grip in a box kit. I started with the sub frame connectors,4 point k member brace and strut tower brace. The next thing I plan on getting is a coilover setup and pan hard bard/ torque arm.

The torque arm and pan hard bar will help you in a straight line as well.

So Josh, given the limited budget I'd start with the cheapest things first that will not adversely effect drag launches but will help corners.

            1. Poly sway bar bushings, end links and mounts
            2. MM Solid steering rack bushings
            3. Poly control arm bushings for the front (I just installed some, NOT that bad)
            4. Struts (I have Tokico Blues)
            5. New rubber bushings in the upper rear CA's
            6. MM Subframe connectors

Now for a little more money
            7. MM Solid Steering Shaft
            8. MM rear lower control arms
            9. Caster camber plates (I'd get MM when you add coilovers later)
            10. Panhard bar
            11. coilovers, front and rear (MM has the kit with new struts/shocks, springs, kit, C/C plates... at this point you're swapping springs which will make the biggest difference between straight and curved roads)
            12. Torque arm

Maximum Motorsport Maximum Grip Box. 1.8x 60ft times screwing around at the dragstrip on regular non-DR 17-inch Nitto tires using both sway bars and a manual gear box.

should a maxim motorsports package be my goal?

If you want, there are other manufactures.

I like Kenny browns matrix subframes.

I have a lot of their suspension on my cobra and love it... Griggs and Steeda both make good suspension for the corners also.
