I have one here at work and my technician tells me their is nothing wrong with it, we goodwilled this thing for some reason. Customer bitched and bitched, until we finally just put one in for "customer satisfaction". Said it felt "notchy". I have a chance to buy this thing. Is it worth anything? I know what they go for new, but I know better.

Probably a shitty clutch. Both times I had a trans that felt 'notchy' it was 1. A toasted pressure plate 2. A smoked clutch disc. Both issues were just leading to partial disengagement. Trans might be good?Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. The biggest problem with that unit is, it only fits the S197 cars without a hugh amount of work to go along with it. I'd give you $500 for it but thats only because I build transmissions so I could use it as a core if someone needed one. As for the notchyness, I've had a lot of people complain about those units being notchy.

I was thinking it was from a GT500 for some reason not a Camaro. The biggest problem you're going to have putting it into a truck is the rearward shifter that unit has and the yoke on the back. I would look at doing a mid shift conversion on it and swapping the yoke out.
