First things first, the car has a CEL which I haven't bothered to check as I KNOW what one of the issues is. It isn't on all the time though, just after about 10 minutes of driving.
So a few weeks ago when I swapped my whole exhaust system I learned that the O2 sensors were not connected to a damn thing on the car. In fact, the pigtails were cut at the sensors and I don't know where the harness end of the sensor connector is located. I'm sure it's supposed to be near the firewall, but it isn't obvious so if someone can tell me the wire color or connector color that'd be helpful. I have longtubes now so I know I need to get the extensions as well as 2 new O2 sensors. Right now I just have the worthless sensors plugging up the holes.
My EGR valve looks to all be there and plugged in, but the system is totally capped off, smog pump was gone before I got the car, and the H-Pipe is now offroad. Standing behind the car at all though it is a VERY strong smell and I wonder how much that is caused by the lack of O2 sensors and the computer can't adjust what it doesn't know about.
I felt like Ray Charles last night... driving with the headlights for the first time I discovered how bad they suck. They are not aimed correctly and honestly whoever installed them didn't get the bucket back far enough to sit flush with the inner and outer side markers, they are about 3/8" stuck out from the other headlight pieces. Is the adjustment separate from simply moving the bucket back farther where it goes, is there a bulb adjustment too?
Also my dash lights are dim as can be, time for some LED dash lights.
My Alternator is now a 3G unit and I have underdrive pulleys but it seems like I don't have enough juice and I haven't really put any electrical load on the car to speak of. Just the basic 4 speaker stereo system for now. While running the suck ass gauge reads on (just a C-Hair over) the 2nd white line above the 8 without lights on. With the lights on, it dips to just a C-Hair under the line. For those of you with underdrives on a 3G system, is this normal or could my alt/battery be bad?
My horn doesn't work either, when you press either button (air bag wheel) you can hear a click behind the dash but no horn and the fuse is good. I have a repair manual for the car but the wiring diagrams in there do not show the horn circuit anywhere.
Edit: it's a 92 coupe with a 5.0
