My 92 F150, it's got the 300 I6 in it right now. Figure why not just swap it for the 302. From my understanding the 302 in the mustangs were HO engines, the f150's weren't. Wouldn't that make the mustang engine a better option to transplant? I'm asking because the engine won't cost me anything.

If there's a bigger difference there then explain it to me. What would I be getting myself into trying to do that swap.

          Oh motoman...

Leave the truck alone. The I-6 has more torque than a truck 302. Putting a small-cube high horsepower hot rod engine in a truck is a waste of a good engine... and a truck.

We all assumed you were wanting to go fast and have fun. Not make a slow heavy pig that sounds good and gets terrible gas mileage. Put the engine in a fox body and let it rip.

Yes sir, completely different situation. Find a 351W and add a few bolt ons to it if you want 350 hp in a truck.

I put a mustang 302 into a 4x4 bronco back in the day before I knew better. 8mpg, and a slow pig out of the hole.

I learn something new everyday. I was hoping to make this slow heavy pig a little quicker. The 300 engine with 4.56's is SLOW! hahaha but it is what it is.
I wondered if it could be done, no sweat.

Time to look for a roller setup.

I sold this LX hatch out here last year - http://dfwmustangs.net/class/showpro...lx-hatch&cat=4

Pretty simple off the shelf combo with a good tune...it made 325 (I think the actual number was 328) to the tires something like 10-years ago! I believe it even still had the smog pump on it at the time.

It's slow because you're fighting weight.

I'm surprised the front wheel is able to stay planted on the asphalt.
