                  Motorcraft. I used to use fram never again though. I used fram in my old Durango and at start up it had valve train chatter. Put a wix in it and the noise went away completely.

                    Did the mesh separate and enter the engine? They say the adhesive is good for *600. I know oil doesn't get that hot, but stuff around the filter may, I was thinking it could heat soak and fail.

                    I use motorcraft.

                            I have cut open a lot of filters. ac, fram, fomoco, kn, mobil1 wix.... so many design changes for the same component.

                            Motorcraft here... My truck, Cobra, and both race cars
                            Some cars and a bike...

                                Napa Gold (Wix). For my application (LS1) when they go on sale theyre about 3.50/ea. I bought a case.
