I have herd of polys squeaking here, and there, but I have never herd of polys "falling apart".

Though I have never noticed any squeaking coming from my UPR upper/lower controls arms with poly bushings...

When you use the wrong grease the fall apart, from what I hear. I've never had any fancy parts.

This car at some time in its life will be primarily for racing, but will remain streetible. As long as i can tell a difference in performance, I couldn't care less about comfort.

Good quality heim joints all the way. I saw a very mild car split a set of brand new poly bushings in the LCA after about 3-4 launches on slicks with a manual gear box.

Not as well as I would have hoped. I've got a few bugs to work out... mostly with the shifting. It's acting like it's hitting a rev-limiter on both the 1-2 shift as well as the 2-3 shift, but I don't think it's the actual rev limiter. Manny said he has the hard limiter at 7700, so I don't think it's that. Anyway, it feels like you hit the brakes when it hits the limiter and it's doing it on both shifts, so I'm sure I'm losing both some ET as well as MPH. I'll get the bugs worked out and hope for a better result next time. My best pass was:

          1.746 60'
          7.503 @ 96.05 1/8th
          11.5 @ 124.42 1/4

Best 60' was a 1.67 but it's still spinning a bit. I also found out this sucker is 3900# with me and a 1/2 tank! DAMN! That was with the spare removed and pretty much everything else as is.

I also want to figure out a way to get some of the heat out of the supercharger when at the track. Sitting still, I didn't have a way to really cool it off. Going to look into the Killer Chiller or maybe just a larger reservoir to put ice in or something. It never really cooled all the way off. I didn't have a lot of time, so I got in a total of 4 passes and was averaging about 30 minutes apart which wasn't much for cool down. So

In summary, my list of action for next time are:

1.) Get the shifts sorted out. I think there's probably AT LEAST .2 and 2mph associated with this!
2.) Consider going to a 15" DR. Not sure on this. It might be worth trying the 19's some more even if they are a little fickle.
3.) Consider some weight savings somewhere.
          4.) Look at cooling options.

Overall, a good first trip with lots of room for improvement!

nice times for our first time out with the new mods. wonder how well it works.

Once you get the bugs worked out maybe you would like to line them up against another KB car. Maybe at the cruise or something?

            Finally did a datalog:

Man, technology is COOL! So, as you guys know, I had some shifting problems at the track and figured it was costing me some ET and MPH. My best time was a 7.5@96/11.5@124. Well, I haven't got my issue fixed yet, but I was hoping to see what it was and how much it was costing me. It's hitting the 7700 rpm rev limiter. Looking at the data log, the rev limiter hit on the 1-2 is costing me .4 seconds and 6MPH! (how many mph it gains in that .4 after hitting 2nd). On top of that, it was banging the 2-3 as well, but I didn't log that just now. It wasn't quite as severe, so maybe not as much of an impact. I'm VERY encouraged. This thing should have a GOOD TEN @ some decent MPH even at 2000' DA! NOW to get out to HPP and get it fixed!

No, I haven't even been back to the track. Haven't made any changes, just repairs. Might be a few more months. I went overboard with home audio a few weeks ago. LOL

Hit the track! I'm interested to see if changing your rear shock settings helps your car or not. I have the same strange shocks set on 5. I just ran this car for the first time last night and came home with 7.9@85mph/1.667 60ft.

You're 60ft is better then mine for sure. You're running good. Same et but I have almost 5mph on you, and probably weigh less.

                    Meh! I hate my suspension.

Side note: just got a 5.3lm7 for 100$.

I have some timing increases and a jet change in my future... dunno if it will pick up 5mph but we'll see. I had my car weighed down at the scrap yard today so I dont know exactly how accurate the scale is but they told me the car was 2580 without driver. I just have front seats/dash/radio.

Mike, did you change your shock settings yet? I took mine from 5 to 1 today and I can tell a big difference just messing around. Going to the track Sunday to see if my 60' improves.

Yes I did and it i noticed a big difference. My front suspension is so far out of where it needs to be it just sucks. It doesn't transfer at all just stays down.. Which would be fine if it would freaking hook!
