      Its what is happening when you watch allen johnson, mike edwards, etc dump the clutch. Its never completely locked up for two reasons, grip and keeping the engine in its rev range.

          But I think using that at 300whp is kind of silly. But I like the idea, with that comes some time of pro shifted transmission, which is affordable but would make it a pita to drive around town.

            Getting ready to pull the trigger on some control arms.

            I want try out the baseline upper and lowers. Should I get the lower control arms with the poly bushings and sway bar mount, or would the solid bushing w/o mount be okay?

            I've never driven without a rear sway bar, is it needed when you have after market c/as? How would that change its drivability?



            I can't decide on the street launch kit, or the street out law kit.

            Which would you guys reccomend? Ill be spraying a 150 eventually.

              On second thought, my upper control arm bolts holes are bigger than stock.

              So would the pro launch 2 be a better choice?

                Considering youll be driving it on the streets, I would get the control arms with the poly bushings and sway bar mount.

                Solid bushings with no rear sway bar is gonna suck driving it on the streets. I drove my fox everyday for a while with no rear sway bar and the rear end always felt "sloppy". I put a Cobra rear sway bar on it, and I could tell a good difference how it "tightened" up rear end...

                On a side note, did you ever put that spool in your car? How are you liking it?

                  If there's one thing you learn in this thread, it is DO NOT USE STOCK SIZED BOLTS!!!! (12MM)

                  If you do, you will be, either fighting taking out the bent bolts, or bringing it to me (or someone who can do it) to get the BENT bolts out of the torque boxes.

                  In the past month, I've had 3 cars in here with bent lower control arm bolts. ..and I can't tell you how many cars over the years we've repaired with that problem. A stock car with slicks, and a 5 speed will bend them. It's not easy getting them out of the car! At the very least, you need to be using grade 8 bolts with locking nuts.

                    That's what I have now, they're 1/2inch I believe, I wouldn't mind using a 5/8s.

                    Which set of arms would you reccomend brooks?

                        Personally, I wouldn't be using anything polyurethane, after a couple years, they start cracking/falling apart etc...or at least in my case, that's what happened. The other thing is that they squeak ALL the damn time. If you put grease on them, that promotes the decay of the poly...and they fall apart.

                        IMHO, The solid heim ends are where it's at for what you're trying to do. The stuff shown above is good, but I personally prefer Wolfe - but I'm biased.

                          The only thing that worries me about the solid bushing arms is they don't have a place for a factory rear sway bar, and the aftermarket anti roll bars are far from street friendly.

                          Any suggestions on that?

                            Solid bushings suck on the street. I had solids in my SSM lift bars and they made SOOOOO much noise. Greasing would only last a few days.

                            Heim joints would be ok or something like the Global West Del-A-Lum bushings (have them in my car) would be ok for street.

                              Cosmetic stuff doesn't bother me, but safety and effectiveness is what I'm after.
