Its my friends Al's 92 feature car. He changed the alternator and battery already. Battery light is still on and it wont charge and leaves him stranded.

    TFS maybe?

Hmm, fusable link? Id start at the alternator and work my way to the battery with a volt meter.

Will the fusable link be bad and allow it to run?

This. Check to see if it is even putting out power to begin with. Engine running it should be. If not, the command wire that is key on run, is bad (more than likely).

If it is putting power out to the battery from the terminal post then the wiring to the dash is fuckered somewhere.

Here is a helpful link for the charging system wiring diagram.

Follow the properties for the link to others.

dash light is the actual 500ohm dash resistor.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Thanks Keith, so anywhere I see a link, test before and aft and then replace accordingly?

            yep

IIRC, the one you should be looking for is at the solenoid
