I think I'm just going to pick up a used one with a warranty and swap it out. Why spend 200 to maybe fix a 200k mile tranny when I can spend $500 and get a used guaranteed one.

That would be awesome. When in drive it struggles to get going, but once you are up to speed it is fine. It feels like it is trying to start in 3rd. When you put it in "1" it takes off just fine, but it doesn't feel like first, it feels like second because it turns okay rpm at 40.

Just put 4.56s in it.

Yea, and the 2nd syncro gear will go out 100 miles later. Then he will throw your money back at you and tell you to never bring that car back.



He operates a great shop, but that little fit he threw was unprofessional IMO. I would (and have) use him again.

I do this for a living, I don't want to see you blow money. Every single one needs what your does. Put the parts in it, or put the parts in the other one.

yeah. Shifting issue isn't all. I has a pretty bad slip as well. Hell, maybe I'll just look for quotes to rebuild it. I'll break it open this weekend and see what I can see.

Don't take off the valve body unless you have a trans rebuild book, they have a order the bolts come loose so it doesn't fall apart.

Snap rings and springs after that!

(Dunno if the parts you need are easily changed)

No, that was the throw out bearing on Jack's car. It literally blew up 20 miles after installation. I told him to wait and put in a FOMOCO piece, not a broreally? part
