    yes pcv is important. stands for positive crank case ventilation. modern cars use pcv for multiple purposes. its main purpose is to evacutate the cranke case of pressure built up from ring blow by. they run it into the intake to prevent excessive emissions pooring into the atmosphere. back in the day they ran them down by or into the exhaust and it had a scavanging effect like long tube headers. some people just run breathers or a vacume pump system to prevent oil from getting into the intake causing air fuel issues.

      ok so ordered the covers each cover with one hole. when they get here i need a breather, a pcv valve and some hose for the valve. next to hook up the pvc valve correctly i just put it in the port on the carb right? or do i do it directly to the intake? i have a 600 summit carb if that helps

        why couldnt you just vent both sides like previously stated.......

          You need the vacuum from the intake for better venting.

            Intake or most carbs have a large pcv port on the back either will work as long as its monifold vacume
