  • Exhaust flange bolts

My jeeps exhaust flange bolts keep falling out. I had a banks header installed and my cat back replaced by my friend about an hour away.

A week later the bolts came out. I took it to a local exhaust shop and they fixed it, 2 days later they came out again. Back to same shop, they say they did it wrong the first time and it's done right... then they fall out again.

I went to home depot and picked up a pile of bolts and nuts. I've replaced them twice now myself.

How the heck do I stop these bolts from falling out? I checked the belt/pulleys, motor mounts, etc and everything looks good.

            This.

They are a pain in the ass but can be worth it.

Just double nut them? see how that works for ya. Or get some good locking nuts.

Lockwashers, starwashers, double nut as suggested above. Some kind of castle nuts.
If you are a dfwm baller the stage8 but that is $$$.

Are you getting decent grade fasteners?

I haven't done it on exhaust bolts but Iv drilled a hole through the nut and bolt and hammered a roll pin through it to keep nuts from backing out of high vibration areas.
