What setup did you use for your electric fans?
Mines just on a switch with f body fans

ok so just put guages on it. compressor clutch had disengaged and both sides were at roughly 90psi after it stopped working

            Any ideas?

Autozone had mentioned moisture in the system freezing but I'm not sure about that

At those pressures it should not shut off. At around 20-25 on the low side it will "cycle" (low side switch opens, compressor shuts off for a minute, pressures rise a bit, switch closes back and re-engages compressor). This switch, called the "cycling switch", is up there by the fire wall. It cuts signal to the compressor when the pressure gets low to keep the evaporator core from freezing up. At those readings it shouldn't freeze so ignore vatozone.

Your high side is great as well. I charged mine last night and it was at 175 on the high side, I would had like to have seen it just a little higher, but I did mine later in the evening and in the shade. Outside temp plays a big role in high side pressure. My larger truck fans may have had something to do with it as well.

Try this, next time it shuts off, take something and tap the front of the compressor. A lot of times when your symptoms occur (in my experience) it is because the gap on the clutch is too large and after the compressor clutch warms up a bit it won't re-engage after disengaging. If it pops in and starts running again after you tap it on the nose, replace the clutch assembly and or shim down the clutch gap.

              If that doesn't do it..

With the guages attached I would jump the low pressure switch with a paper clip and let it run and see if it shuts down. Do the same with the high pressure switch if need be. Monitor your pressures and if it gets down around 22 on the low, or above 350 on the high pull the clip so it doesn't freeze/and or go too high on pressure.. If it runs for a long time testing it this way try replacing the switch that allowed the system to run longer.
