  • Looking for a Budget stroker kit

Going to rebuild the short block on my Silver coupe & do heads. Figured I might as well stroke the motor at this point. Wanting to run a Anderson N.61 cam with TFS Heads & Holley Intake

Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.

There's a guy on the corral with a stock short block, fti cam, tfs 170s and a systemax running 10.90s with a 120+ trap speed. He says it weighs 26xx lbs. made 335hp/335trq.

So no need in spending a whole lot.

I'm not a fan of stroking stock blocks. Don't put $2000 worth of internals into a $50 block.

No, my parts will find their way into an aftermarket block.

I snagged the stock short block to reassemble my stock top end.

You can get a 331 kit from coast high for around $850. Spend around $500 for machine work and assemble it yourself. For around $1500 you can have a good budget stroker.

Im not wanting to spend a ton of money. Just have to rebuild the motor & if I could find a kit for $500 that would be awesome! This is a stock block & its a street car. Really just want the cubes for the extra TQ around town. Not trying to win races or anything. Just like to make close to 400 RWHP!

I have a 347 stroker in my car using a stock block. Makes almost 450 rwhp n/a with 0 issues.

Oh and i agree dont put $2000 worth of internals in a stock block, put $1000 worth. An iron crank, i beam rods and hyper pistons for a 331/347 can be had new for less then $1000.
