Rod and crank bearings create the majority of the oil pressure. The pump creates volume.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. as an aside, that sounds like rollers or timing chain clatter. If everything is new (new hydraulic timing chain tensioners and not just the guides?), I'd be hooking up an oil pressure gauge with a quickness.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. Example: wrong size bearings won't allow proper oil pressure to the heads. The lifters require pressure to pump and stay pumped. The oil basically spews out the side of the crank journals and into the pan instead of pressurizing the top end hydraulic components.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you.
