  • Stripped bleeder bolt

    Need a little help.....
    2008 F250 right front.
I just picked up a new caliper because old one was rusted pretty good where the inner seal was. Well, I'm trying to loosen this bleeder bolt and stripped it. I used a regular 3/8(what specs said it was) wrench and flare nut and both would not grab. I put penetrating spray on it 1st for a good while. I tried to heat it up and still nothing(not sure how much heat to put). 1st time doing this as well, so hope I didn't screw it up to bad. the flare nut wrench wants to grab it,but it starts to slip. Damn bolt is on there super tight.

Channel locks, vice grips, WD 40, a torch.... Then just change it out.

Anyone know the torque specs for banjo bolt and the caliper pins.
Forgot to buy the damn manual when i was there.

        Only thing I found is for a 2005 F250

        Caliper pin: 27ft-lbs
        Caliper banjo bolt: 37ft-lbs

Does that sound about right for an 08'

        thanks

You have to use a small hammer and tap the end of a brake line wrench to get them bitches loose or they will strip like that every time. I just snug them up, no gorilla strength or anything.
