I possibly thought the cats coulda been clogged so i unbolted the exhaust and it still pops through the intake and has a rough idle. Nearly everything on it is brand new. Head, spark plugs and wires, egr sensor, tps sensor, Only thing i think it might be is injectors, maf sensor, or possibly a fuel pump. I did a fuel pressure check and i believe it was around 40psi? It was last summer when i checked it. Thing is when i take it drive it seems to drive fine. I think it possibly needs a new clutch as you can hear it through the shift handle and don't hear it when you engage it. But that's possibly because that's how its suppose to sound?? Idk? Lol. Heres a video of it trying to start. You can really hear the pop. And Ive checked the timing and its on the dot. Once it starts to stay running its rough and low idle. It seems to drive just fine though. Just has a hard time getting running. So I found out its throwing 4 codes. 157, 172, 211, & 218

Now i found out what they mean. But whats the way to fix them??

Just trying to figure out why it has a hard time starting and popping through the intake..

Did you ever get it to run right, or is this the same issues from before?

It runs and drives. It just throws those codes now. Still popping through the intake. My bet is it needs new coils..

I doubt both coil packs are bad. Does the truck motor have the TFI module on the intake?

If you have popping through the intake you have timing issues, either with the ignition or the cam. Most likely the belt jumped, or was installed wrong in the first place.

Well last summer when i unplugged the maf it seemed to run better... I haven't tried it at all for awhile. Ill start her up when i get home from work and see what she does.

So I came home and got it running and unplugged the maf. It immediately wanted to die. But i reset the computer but disconnecting the neg cable. and now its only throwing an O2 sensor code. Itll probably throw up the rest when i drive it for a bit. But its not registered or anything right now..

I'll drive it around in the field for a few minutes. And report back.

It threw a 172 code. So that's means its lean? Right?

Did you do a compression test? Leaky/burnt intake valve?
