  • Race Suspension ?s.

After last night, I am done floating around on stock broke ass suspension.

I've decided the go with the baseline pro launch 2, and the single adjustable LCA, simply because it uses a poly bushing on the axle side.

I'm debating on the Lakewood 50/50 or strange 10 ways, thoughts?

What about a rear coilover kit? Didn't see any on teamz.

Spring rate for the front and back?

I'm collecting parts to run AJE k member, tubular a arms and strange 10 ways.

Should this get me into the 1.5 60' range n/a?

Car weighs 2680 without me, with stock k member.

Currently has subframe connectors, and welded reinforced torque boxes. I have a strut tower brace, would it be beneficial?

Front coil over springs I run are 14-175s and rears are stock v6 springs with 1 coil cut. 50/50 shocks and struts front and back. No sway bar up front but I kept it in the rear.Tubular k an a arms to. Had issues with mine last time out with junk 2.0 short times with to tall of a tire. But it should be in the 1.6-1.7 area I would think so im sure you can get down where you want to be at that weight.

Baseline stuff is real nice and well worth the money. The suspention setup you mention with some 50/50 rear shocks should get down in the 1.5-1.7 area depending on a few other things.

Will be running a 26x8.5x15 slick or a 275/50/15 drag radial. I'm keeping a short tire.

I got a 1.71 with stock suspension and sve lowering springs, no sway bar.

            i'm running:

rear: upr upper/lower arms, wolfe arb, strange 10-ways, stock v8 springs
front: upr a arms, strange 10 ways, strange coil overs, upr c/c's, and 300lb 12" springs

best 60' so far is a 1.30 lifting the front tires only a couple of inches.

              Do you have travel limiters?

So there isn't a need for rear coil overs?

I know the stock v8 springs are good for quite a while. But a nicely set up rear suspension just looks nice.

                I'll be running a 31 spline spool.

With stock springs, that would look 4x4 with 26" tires.

Soooooo. Do you have another daily that's readily available for you to drive on a regular basis, or are you modding your only vehicle?

no, from what i have read the stiffer shorter front springs reduce the need for the front end to be limited. the older school method was to put a long light spring in the front then limit it's movement. it seems a lot of guys are now moving to a stiffer shorter spring and not limiting it (at least not as much).

A common misconception that creeps into many discussions about springs is that longer, lighter springs store energy. But our expert views this is a myth that needs to be silenced. “A spring can only store the amount of energy that’s placed against it in the form of front end weight. Over the years, as suspension and tires have improved, the need for longer and lighter springs has diminished, and I’ve all but transitioned away from the 14″ springs on the front for drag racing vehicles and the results have been amazing.”
i'm far from a pro, but i've managed to get my turd to do bottom 1.3x's pretty much every time down the track at kdale (which is apparently not the best surface in the world).

My only car, but I have other means of transportation.

Making it stronger and better, this can be done in a weekend.

I get a thrill of daily driving and relying on a "race car"

Makes for fun times in the garage. It sucks sometimes but, it's part of daily driving a track car.

Ah, the joys of rushing all weekend to fix shit to get to work on Monday, and needind incidentals from parts stores that are closed. I don't miss it one bit.
