Friend from high school went almost 30k miles in a well abused Tacoma v6 he got new on original oil.

Try 15-20mph. I borrowed my dad's truck to go out west, deleted and with a smarty. I was coming back through El Paso and from EP to Van Horn I was running 20 or under, couldn't exceed that unless going down hill. Come to find out that the filter had been changed - 135k miles previously. The tuner wasn't pulling any low pressure or low supply codes but was throwing some various emissions related codes.

Changed the filter and the difference was unreal. Stick with fleetguard or mopar filters.

It has the re-usable assembly from dodge...just looking for drop in filters that aren't $44 because I change them pretty often.

            Thanks though.

Really? Wix is supposed to be a quality brand but honestly, how many filter companies are out there making these fuel filters? Figured there would be two companies making them that just private label the stuff for 10 that sell them...one good and one cheap knock off. But pass on Wix? what am I missing? Diesel fuel filters have been around for...well, ever. what has changed that I am not seeing?

Just because they are built by the same person doesn't mean they are built to the exact same standards.

Fleetguard is a division of cummins, stick with them as they are designed FOR that engine.

For the record, I can beat $44 each for joe blow off the street, and get an even better for 'stangers, the only problem being I'm in Stephenville.
