  • 02 Dodge 3.7 V6 Idle problem

Idles fine when cold. When engine gets warmer it dies on idle. Throttle body is clean. PCV is fine. Is it the IAC unit I should replace or can it be cleaned? Check engine light is not on. Battery is old. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It's a dodge idle problems are built in from the factory.

If the battery is bad they can cause idle issues on dodges. You might have it tested.

If the battery is bad it usually causes gauges to fluctuate and dash lights to intermittently work. Do gas motored dodges have a battery temp sensor those make the diesel trucks idle weird.

They do, under batt attached to the tray.

Same place as the diesel trucks then, I believe they rarely set a code but will give a lot of problems.

I changed the battery today. Only drove it a few miles but did seem to idle ok.
