  • Dodge Ram Rearend Tech Needed

I am wanting to find a shop in or around the Ft Worth area that can change the rear end gears on my 04 Ram . It currently has 3:55's and I want to at least go to 3:92 if not 4:10's . Would prefer to have an actual shop do it but I live an hour west of Ft Worth so I dont know who to take it to . Thanks

I have had very good luck with axle / gear work with Jason at Texas Drivetrain. I don't have his number because it was in a bunch of numbers I lost in an old phone. Maybe someone else that sees this will post it up. I don't know of him doing much advertising but he gets a lot of work by word of mouth.

the Dodge rear ends have always required a special touch with regards of setting up back lash and require a couple special tools...or just good mechanic sense. Most off road shops know them well. You might contact 4 Wheel Parts down on Stemmons near downtown or one of the many small 4x4 and offroad shops around town. I did the diff in my 1/2 ton last year going from an open diff to limited slip. Was MUCH different than the Ford stuff I was used to...but once I figured it out, it was easy!

The Dodge diffs aren't too difficult to setup but does require a little more skill than a Ford 8.8.
