after reading i think it might be the gear coming out of the trans? the VSS?
the speedo, the odo and trip odo all are not working.

i highly doubt the gears in the trans. one bolt holds vss in, easy to check

The 94 don't use a cable.. When mine stopped working i had to replace the gears in the cluster.. If you think it's in the trans it should look like this
When you pull it out should look something like this..
