  • Ford OEM Throwout Bearing & Price Check?

I have a 91' Mustang, and installed a King Cobra Clutch Kit from UPR about 6 months ago, and about the last month now I keep getting a chirping sound coming from my tranny which im assuming is the throwout bearing already going out? It chips all the time, but if I put slight pressure on the clutch pedal it will stop chirping...

The UPR King Cobra Clutch Kit comes with the Ford Racing throwout bearing which I hear is a decent throwout bearing? Why would it already be chirping?

Everything I keep reading everyone says to only use Ford OEM throwout bearings? So I called Westway Ford in Irving, and they said they have the throwout bearing for my car for $78? Does this price sound right? Anyone know anywhere else cheaper to get a Ford OEM throwout bearing?

I also wanna go ahead, and change out the pilot bushing for a "Ford OEM pilot bushing", and Westway Ford said the pilot bushing would be $28? That sounds high for a pilot bushing as well?

Anyone know what brand Ford uses as their OEM throwout bearing?

Is the Ford Racing throwout bearing considered OEM?

Good question, I just ordered a FRPP TOB and it's an no name China peice of junk just like almost the whole FRPP catalog, I am VERY disappointed with the Ford Racing parts I have purchased this past year, I will be sending this TOB back, I'd like to know where to find a quality one, I may try OEM from Tasca.

I have 3 brand new throwout bearings sitting in my garage. They are all for 96-04 4.6ls though.
2 of them came from the OEM Ford clutch providers, Carolinaclutch, but they no longer carry the OEM clutch. I have a slightly older FRPP throwout bearing, and it works great. Avoid the one from fucking Oreilly Auto Parts. It literally blew up in less than 10 miles!

I believe Timken is a good brand as well.

Also, if you ever need to order parts from Ford, call Glenn Polk Autoplex in Gainesville, TX. Ask for Doug in parts. He'll price match Tousley Ford, or any other dealer for that matter. He's saved me thousands!
