He must only replace meters every OTHER day, but he still knows what he's doing.

Not sure on how the modular motor MAF housing is in comparison to earlier 5.0 meters.

But the housings are the same just the eletronics are different.

So.. If he puts his cobra MAF in a Gt housing, all is good.

Well... the injector size is accounted for in the programming not the MAF... so I suppose it is possible that the Cobra and GT use the same meter and sensor. Doesn't seem likely that they would use the same size meter though.

The kid used carb cleaner to clean a MAF! Let's try to keep it simple. Housing is irrelevant. Get him a stock fucking MAF meter! Housing has nothing to do with his problem.

Injector size is calculated in the processor of the MAF as well as the PCM. There are two processors.

Your advice would insenuate(sp?) that you could run any size injector with a stock MAF.

The C&L CAI housing is fine since it uses the stock MAF electronics/sensors.

hmm. if the stock one fits, why does it come with a different one?

Alright. I think I'm just gonna take it to Dallas Mustang or HPP.

You can run any injector with the stock MAF. The parameters in the program related to high and low injector flow rate (can't recall the name of them) just need to be adjusted accordingly. Likewise you can run any MAF you want as long as the MAF transfer function table is constructed to accurately reflect flowrates vs signal voltages. All it takes is a tune...

There's no processor in the MAF. It's just a simple circuit.

You're cleaning a piece of very sensitive electronic wiring, with something that's used to clean carbon off of metal. Find a stock meter from somebody and slap that on, like mentioned. You don't need a bigger meter with your mods right now. The only time you need a bigger, aftermarket meter is if you are changing out your fuel injectors.

Listen man. DO NOT take it to either one of those unless you want a cash-rectomy. Your problem is simple. A lean indication on both banks is probably a dirty MAF. Clean it properly and wipe the code. If that doesn't work you need to check every vacuum line on the thing. I'm telling you it is a simple problem. With a little patience and thorough investigation you will fix it for cheap. If you think it's bad O2 then buy one and see if it throws a lean code for one side.

Last time mine threw codes for lean on both banks it was a disconnected vacuum line on my intake. It took some real hard looking and checking everything but I found it.

When you're done put your o/r pipe back on. No one checks that shit anyway.

first. They do check that @#!*% . lol. Its def not gonna pass with a cel on. Ive had my dad and my girlfriends dad, and some guys at a local auto shop check the thing over. nobody found any vaccum leaks or exhaust leak. obd 2 has a seperate code for oxygen sensor failure. I cleaned the maf, even if it was with carb cleaner, it is still clean. Should I go buy MAF cleaner and clean it again?

                          What the fuck? Who edited my cursing g o d d a m m i t?

I meant they don't look for cats at an inspection, at least I've never had an issue, or heard of anyone else getting nitpicked like that. Now the CEL yes they will flunk you.

I would pull your o2's and grab a torch and a volt meter and check them. I would properly clean the MAF as well.

I'm just saying it's something simple, and if you've exhausted all efforts then by all means take it to a reputable shop that doesn't charge high end labor rates. Almost any compotent grease monkey could solve your problem.

Maybe I missed it, but what are the codes exactly? Does it say bank 1 and 2 are lean?
