Ls1 intake is fine with the right tune etc.
    Yes the ls6 is good.
    But a far stretch from a fast102.
    I can see it now.
Oh it runs pretty good with an ls6 intake but if I had a 102 just think!
You guys are ford guys and you now come out of wood pile like you know what's up on the LS seen.
There is lots of ignorance on lsx motors here which scares me. You can build a cam only ls1 f body with nitrous and run low 10s. Who cares how much it costs. I mean this whole money deal is ridiculous,if you don't want to spend money to make your car fast and build it right don't build it.
The guy who cuts corners at the end of the day I have his money in my pocket and him saying well you have more money in your car.

You'll have lot's of time in the seat, then if you are ready for more HP, consider spending more bucks on mods.

Mod's can end up costing more than getting the entire basic setup running.
This is my plan with my s-10. I am sorting out the suspension and rear end first. Then the motor swap will happen with a pretty stock 5.3L. Drive it for a while to work the bugs out of the drivetrain and suspension, then see where I want to go with it

Still working the bugs out and still need to up the boost. Getting there slowly stock 5.3 with the normal cam, valvesprings, headstuds upgrade http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lz573l94R50&feature=plcp

I didn't see it mentioned in the notes, the 97-98 ls1 motors have a different syle block. In 99 they changed the block design to improve oil drainage at the back of the block

98-00 have weaker rod bolts, 01 and newer have the improved design

Neither of those are terrible design flaws, just worth mentioning. My 98 z has 128k on the original bottom end and makes 420whp
