I lold when they said $385 for new plugs. Can I really be present while they work?
Any type of beer you want. Most dealerships will not let you watch or "hang out" while the work is being performed. Shoot me a pm with make model and engine, and ill get a price on plugs

One of the reasons I wanted to leave the dealerships. I hated the BS they tried to make people buy. Oh.... but a nitrogen air service for the tires, thats huge.
        Some cars and a bike...

Some say... they have been raced, some a lot

Ask them why they're not wanting to do a brake fluid or power steering flush while they're at it...

I used to be a service manager for two of the 'box' stores. These four items are pure profit. All uncalled for, all rarely even done when they're sold. The only time you're going to 'need' the tb cleaned is after substantial miles in a dirty environment, provided you didn't keep your filters changed, at least. If you drive a lot of white rock roads, yes, you're going to have dirt in there. Short of that put fuel treatment in your tank once a month, keep your filters changed, change the plugs when your mileage starts dropping off.

I once had a store manager that would pull the "recommended maintenance" lists for the vehicles, one item of which was "tighten frame crossmember bolts to factory specifications". That scumbag charged $69.99 for this 'service'. The techs would stand around and laugh about the dumbass that bought it while they got paid their 15 minutes of flag time...

This is why I don't know where to send folks when they ask where to take teir car for work! I understand up sell, profit, overhead, blah blah blah, but there's so much thievery in that example, it's sickening! I mean seriously, overcharging for a service whether it's necessary or not, is highway robbery. On top of that, the tech would rather spend his 15 minutes laughing at the poor bastard than actually earning his money by torquing a few bolts? Lazy, dishonest scumbag if you ask me, both him AND the manager! Hopefully carma catches up to these guys.

Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now, this topic just rubs me the wrong way. People just trying to take care of their vehicles, and taking it in the shorts for their trouble.

Because they way they do thing, make me wonder if theyre making a little extra on the side or something! I wonder if they have on their record the LAST print out of all the work they said my suv needed? I lol because it gets shorter everytime i take it in. I wonder if they notice? OH! btw, i have a dead tpms and theyre charging me $150 for a diagnostic, anyone know where i can get that done?

Which is why I didn't last in that field. I refused to rip people off. The techs learned fast not to bring me bullshit because I didn't allow it.

I really hated the frame popping noises on older F-150s. Nothing more fun than that.

waste of time and money...do it yourself.

i call these wallet emptiers.....well mainly since i can do all it myself....

if they dont pull the intake to clean the valves its just a chemical they spray in there.
just crap they push to get spiffs and for techs to make easy hours.
Your local VW parts Master.....need a part?

I really wonder if it makes any difference. Sure its not the same as tearing down the heads. I saw my Old's valves after 45k... 2.8l POS. HUGE deposits.

Fuel injector cleaners (the crap you put into your gas tank)? I do not think I ever sold one.

I do think brake fluid flushes are good, IF the vehicle was old enough. 2 years time was my rule. Saw a lot of corrosion there.

With enough miles all fluids need replacing. Only bad thing is they get a tad greedy.

Damn summer air in tires is high dollar.

OK, so I've never had to replace a spark plug that has a coil pack. So I pull the pack and the plug is screwed in right? Is there supposed to be oil in there?
