I doubt the egr valve is causing your issues unless it is sticking in the open position at idle and low rpm. It will act like a very large vacuum leak if it's open when not supposed to be. You can just unplug the vacuum line going to the valve and test drive it. If a lot of your symptoms clear up then it could be a faulty valve or solenoid.

Ok. So I removed the vacuum line from the top of the egr before I drove home from work. It seemed to be better with it disconnected, so I stopped by auto zone and picked up an egr valve and solenoid. Replaced both, issue is back. On my test drive I disconnected the vacuum like again and it didn't seem to help anything this time. I don't get it.

I did notice that my air intake tube was really loose where it connects to the throttle body. Didn't make any difference after I tightened it though. I also heard a terrible high pitch grinding nose when the fan is running, so that's awesome. New fan on order now.

I also pulled off my plug wires from the coils one by one and they were all getting tons of spark.

I picked up a fuel pressure test kit from auto zone while I was there, I'll probably do that tomorrow after work, maybe during work if I get time.

This is pretty damn frustrating.

Once you get that intake on and tuned it should run decent and lets not forget its built for a blower/turbo too.
