Is it all the Dorman replacements intakes that are non pi port with the pi end ? I have a new one I am getting ready to swap on my 2000 but if its going to hurt the performance I may go a different route . Mine has the leak so I ordered the new one . Maybe I should have Brooks dyno mine before and after to see if there is a difference .

Yeah, I wouldn't do the Dorman. There are two used Ford PI intakes on Corral for $105 shipped. One of them looks real nice.
Dam . Thanks for the link . I got a brand new one from Roc auto for like 250 and thought I was doing good . O well , live and learn . At least I didn't put it on and wonder where the power went .
I doubt the egr valve is causing your issues unless it is sticking in the open position at idle and low rpm. It will act like a very large vacuum leak if it's open when not supposed to be. You can just unplug the vacuum line going to the valve and test drive it. If a lot of your symptoms clear up then it could be a faulty valve or solenoid.
