Is Limo tint on an SUV a good thing, or a PITA?

i only run 25% of a high quality heat resistant tint all the way around cause i hate the mismatched look.

i want to do 3m cystalline 90 on my windshield. supposed to be great for heat rejection.

To have up to 5% tint, note from a doctor, fill out a form from the state of texas, fax it in and they mail you a letter for your exemption, you can add several vehicles to the form to be exempt for all vehicles you drive/own.
Photophobia, sensitivity to light. It also applies for children that have the disease where sunlight causes them to break out in rashes(cant remember the name). Tint place I went to actually put the tint on a ladys car(for her child) for free and did a clear tint for the windshield(that blocks UV rays).

Backing anywhere at night is a PITA, I just back in wherever so I can drive out. I rarely drive at night, so its worth the slight hassle and blocking the sun in the summer is well worth it.
How hard is this exemption letter to obtain?

I am sick of dealing with the morning and evening glares, would like to tint the front windshield at 50%

                Porphyria.

I'm going to have to look into this. If I'm outside, I have sunglasses on. Even wear them a lot of the time when I'm driving and it is raining.

It's quite simple. Just print & have your optometrist sign the form. Add the Vins of the vehicles and mail to the state. Last time it took about 7 days to get the exemption letter back. You can take it to the tint shop to avoid hassle and possible up charge for the tint itself. The Tahoe has 5% all around and a brow double the width of the dot line.

The windows on my Suburban are pretty dark but I don't know if it's the factory level or if some was added since I bought it used. I don't believe it's 5% though, because I had 5% on the back glass of my Mustang and that seemed darker. My fronts are tinted but legal, which is plenty for me.

As others have said, 5% is a PITA at night, so it's up to your own tolerances. You still have the side mirrors, so it's really no different than driving a panel van or moving truck where there is no back window.

There are times I would like to go a little darker on the Suburban, but overall the night driving is what keeps me from doing it.

I would never want 5% on the fronts. Hell, even with the legal tint on the Mustang I sometimes had to roll down the windows to use the side mirrors to back up at night.

I've had a few cars completely limo'ed, and liked it. You do have to be a little more careful at night, but it's a trade off I'm willing to make.

On my last truck I didn't tint the back glass (factory tinted), but I did tint the front windshield in 50%.

If you have night vision problems I'd leave it stock and just tint the side windows

I liked limo when I was younger but now I don't for 2 reasons. Driving at night sucks and it looks gangster. Now I like something reasonable like 35% all the way around, and all windows (except windshield) have to match.

same here, and I found that I see better in the rain with my polarized lenses. I try to get my girl to wear glasses because I think all the squinting will cause lines and wrinkles.. but she doesn't get it.
