Thanks for the help! I probably will check the the guides and tensioners. I will keep it stock at first and upgrade to the cobra stuff later on. I plan on keeping the IMRC plates for the torque and gas mileage. I figure if I run the rpms up very once and while that will keep them fairly clean. Shouldn't have a hard time remembering to do that lol.

I really like the sound of the 4v 4.6 especially if its coming out of a foxbody.

It won't keep them clean you will need to run stuff through it periodically.

And yes do take off the front cover and check guides and chains for slop. Replace as need be.
Sounds like a fun ride when ur done.

Word of advice: do yourself a favor and buy the manual brake conversion from Maximum Motorsports. You wont have room for a vac booster, and the hydroboost is a PIA to get all in and going correctly. Ive ran all three, and the performance of the MM manual kit is better than the others.

What's the best way to keep the IMRCs clean? Seafoam?

I had planned on running a hydroboost. Would the manual brakes make a decent daily driver?

What about headers? Do 4v mod motors respond well to shorties or longtubes? I had planned to find some cobra manifolds so that I knew the o2 sensors would heat up.
