  • My 2012 Ford F-150 Ecoboost ..problem child

    Got mine April 2012

It has 55,000 miles on it ..

Had coil packs replaced twice , driveshaft once

now..it runs like crap again milage is awful , worse than before

( never, ever got close to 22 mpg as advertised )

took it a to a speciality shop to see if he can help

says, sure .. Ford knows there is a problem, no fix yet

The intercooler gets alot water from condensation , ruins the cats too

Mine was completly froze ,,we dranied about 32oz of oil/ water out of it

Called dealer .. yep, we know ..5000 intercoolers on order
going to take 60-90 days to get the parts

Just keep driving it as it ..great !!

2011+ Engine Related Questions - There is a fix for the condensation build up in the intercooler! - Any fix should be done by a qualified person. Perform any redneck fix at your own risk. Ford just came out with a TSB today 12-6-4 to reprogram the PCM/TCM to latest level, installed a deflector shield on the...

Looks by reading, lots of problems .. yea !

Here is what we dug out of the intercooler

    frozen oil and water ..yuk

I'm sure the struggles are far from over , looks like the cats will go soon

                    As always

The public does the R & D for them ..

When it runs correct ,it does have decent power

Best MPG I have seen so far ..19.3

That was all interstate highway, 350 miles in one trip with light tailwind

                    running 75-80 mph

most of the time its gets 16-17 , unless you run into the wind

                    common to get 13-15 then

                    to be fair

I haul about 350-400 lbs in it every day for work

I had the option of a ecoboost or a 5.0 for my work truck..After seeing the bullshit a couple of people I know are going through with them, I'm glad i went with the 5.0..
