I've been looking at that setup for my fox but can't decide if the clutch fork is going to hit my long tubes. I would love to have the 6 speed but I don't want to lose my long tubes in the processOriginally posted by black50 View PostI think its a pretty cool swap and have been thinking about doing it on my 95gt..I think there are a few companys (D&D).that sell complete conversion kits for around 3,500...You could prolly piece it together yourself for around 2,000 using used parts
Edit:http://www.ddperformance.com/shop/in...p?cPath=108_96 They are 4,300

Sounds like a cobra spec, my Terminator had 3.55s and same trans, bout 2k at 70ish too.. I think 6th was a .62Originally posted by racrguy View PostHow does one tell which T56 they have? The one in my coupe runs 2k-2100 at 70 with 3.55's
First and second gear are useless in a hatch with 275/298 and street tires.

Tremec is all you need imo. Unless you just want to spend a lot of extra money for a super tall 6th gear which you likely won't ever use due to the car bucking under 70 mph.Originally posted by blownaltered View PostI've been looking at that setup for my fox but can't decide if the clutch fork is going to hit my long tubes. There are two main ratios. The 2.66 and the 2.97. The 2.66 is found commonly in the F Body T56, the 03-04 Cobra and the Non Z06 C5 Corvette as well as the Z06 C6 model Corvette. The 2.97 is found in the Ford and GM aftermarket units as well as the GTO, Z06 C5 and non ZO6 C6. There are other units out there from European and Australian models as well.Originally posted by racrguy View PostHow does one tell which T56 they have? Most Fox body headers are designed for a 9 O'clock fork position. None of the T56 Magnums come with this and neither does the Cobra spec model. Basically the only one that did is the one I posted in my original post.Originally posted by blownalteredI've been looking at that setup for my fox but can't decide if the clutch fork is going to hit my long tubes. So the tko 600 will probably be the better fit for me then. I don't want clearance issues and I still want the use of my speedo.Originally posted by thesource View PostThere are two main ratios. Yeah that or the T56 units I said I have available. They have a 9 O'clock fork position. I can also do a custom unit which is basically a Viper spec model that uses a 26 spline input shaft, 31 spline output shaft, mechanical speedo and has the correct fork position but it runs about $3200 to build one and that doesn't include the bell housing.Originally posted by blownaltered View PostSo the tko 600 will probably be the better fit for me then. Yes sir. Get the one with the taller sixth and you will be good to go. Mine shifted pretty smooth with Redline D4 in it and a Pro 5.0 shifter. Prob buy a MGW for it though as they usually shift smoother.Originally posted by blownaltered View PostSo the tko 600 will probably be the better fit for me then.
