  • Pyrometer in a DP for a Streat car, yes or no?

Redoing the gauges and thinking about adding a Pyrometer in the dash to coincide with the applicable AFR, Boost and Fuel Pressure gauges.

What says the collective? Is it useful and worth the $220 for street car?

Figure I can mount the probe in the DP in one of my unused O2 holes.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

try to get something that matches your other gauges.

sure, why not? Pyrometers are great gauges that can show lean/rich conditions that the UEGO might miss.

I have so much already invested in my AEM stuff but with the white face and black bezels they will match up well with the Autometer Phantom II stuff. The AEMs don't white light either so at night when the Phantom IIs go black they will match. Just that the AEMs will have the digital red read out and the sweep light circling the bezel.

Gonna end up with new Autometer Phantom, tach, speedo, fuel level, volt, pyrometer and oil temp.

I really only want to pull this dash down one more time anyways so I think I might as well spend the extra and add it in now.

If you really want one they are much more accurate in the header - 2-3 inches from the head

Too much guesstimation going on with them in the downpipe

I would rather go with oil temp though on a turbo car - its one that most people really don't consider

Or trans temp if u have an automatic

Manual tranny (6spd). Actually I thought about putting in two oil temps. One pre and another post cooler. When and if I went Automatic, I could simply move the sender and toss one of the engine oil temp gauges for a tranny temp gauge without have to run all new wirring through the firewall again.

I am already redoing my dash. Ditching the stock cluster since it doesn't work well with my AEM and coil on plugs and replacing it with a florida5.0 cluster panel. I already have the following:
                    AEM - Boost (controller)
                    AEM - Fuel PSI
                    AEM - Air/Fuel
(relocating the HVAC controls from the dash to under the ashtray door in center console then mounting those three above in the dash above the radio dins)

AEM - Water Temp (going in the cluster)
AEM - Oil PSI (going in the cluster)

                    and am buying:
Autometer - in dash electric speedo speedo
Autometer - 3-3/4" tach with shift light that I need to figure out how to mount in dash. (the tach I actually already have sitting on the shelf in the garage)

Autometer - Fuel level (going in the cluster)
Autometer - Volts (going in the cluster)

I have space for two more and I am thinking: Mounted in the Sn95 Autometer cluster bezel.
                    Pyrometer
Oil Temp (to make things even)

I guess since I will have to pull the exuast to mount it, I can have multiple ports put in (primarys, merge).
