How can ya get fuel to come outta the injectors. I tried unplugging one coil and turning it over. And never see anything come out. Granted I turned it over without getting into the cab and turn the key. Just took a screw driver and touch the 2 posts to turn it over.

When i had a gauge hooked up to it it was around 40 and stayed.. Think it might be the coils?? Lol. Trying not to highjack the thread but i wanna get this thing running so i can sell it. And it sounded like he was having the same issue with popping through the intake.. Should i replace the coils and fuel pump??
Man ive done fuel system cleaner, fuel presser test, new fuel filter, and mine still pops through the intake. Any Suggestions? Me and white trash have almost identical problems. Only his is a newer year. I still havent replaced the coils yet though.
Fuel pressure is only part of the equation. The flow has to be there as well. With the engines idling and running part throttle okay, I'd suspect the fuel pump cannot keep up with the flow demands at WOT. Check the fuel flow with a pressure gauge that has a flow bypass. If the engine stumbles at idle when you press the button, the pump is bad. You need a gauge similar to this one to check the flow.
Also, it is possible that the cats are clogged. Before replacing the fuel pump, disconnect the exhaust at the collector and see if it performs better at WOT.
If you replace the fuel pump, be sure to replace the filter at the same time.

Yeah, I possibly thought the cats coulda been clogged so i unbolted the exhaust and it still pops through the intake and has a rough idle. Nearly everything on it is brand new. Head, spark plugs and wires, egr sensor, tps sensor, Only thing i think it might be is injectors, maf sensor, or possibly a fuel pump. I did a fuel pressure check and i believe it was around 40psi? It was last summer when i checked it. Thing is when i take it drive it seems to drive fine. I think it possibly needs a new clutch as you can hear it through the shift handle and don't hear it when you engage it. But that's possibly because that's how its suppose to sound?? Idk? Lol.
I wasn't sure till i saw the one with the dead cylinder was just squrting, not spraying. one thing that will make it easier to figure out is finding what cylinder is causing it. pull one plug wire at a time and see if you can figure it out.

Have you monitored any pid data, or just intermittently checked for codes? The MAF can cause crazy issues have you checked it for cleanness? Also do these newer Rangers have a MAP sensor?

Did you replace your wires? It sounds like Ignition to me

I tried pull one wire at a time off the coils and pulling some off didnt really change bit in idle.. But they are new plugs and wires. So maybe coils? This is also on a 94 Ranger. OBDI

It threw a egr sensor code and tps code after i re-installed the head. Both were replaced. and i bought some maf cleaner and cleaned it to best of my knowledge.
If you want some parts to swapout, I have a lot of stuff from a 91
4.0, coil pack, mass air, efi module, tps, BAP, fpr. 19 lb injectors. I don't know what might be the same on your motor.
I read back through the posts and saw yours is a 8 plug 4 cyl, make double sure the wires are on correctly

eh, Mines a 2.3. Don't know if alot of those motor used same parts. I know 3.0 v6 and 2.3 shared the same injectors. Yeah, I've played around with switching up the firing order. Nothing seems to work. They are all plugged up right.. Does it matter which side of the plug goes to which coil pack? Like left number 1 plug goes to the front coil pack? I'm sure it wouldn't would it? I did swap out one coil last summer with one from a 98 mustang. Didn't seem to make a difference...
