can a fuel pump go bad from sitting??

my car has been on jackstands for almost 3 years now.....just now got the itch again to put it back together.... got it all together to fire off.....but not getting any fuel......check both my relays....all the wiring......getting power to it but it doesnt do anything.....even hot wired it to a battery and it just heated up the wires....and made a werid noise, but still wasnt pumping......pump was installed about a 6 months before i took car apart.....brand new wablro 255.....maybe had 1000-1500 miles on it....

so can a fuel pump go bad from sitting.....i guess so....just wondered if anyone else had this problem?

Yes sir. Mine did it after sitting for 4-6 months.

well damn....the price of the pumps has gone up like $50 bucks since i bought that one......guess ill order one off ebay since its the only place i can find one for a good price.

I know you can send aeromotive back to have them rebuilt . Wablro might offer the same .

Had that issue with a ford explorer. Its not to common but can happen.

My GN has been sitting since 2004 with half a tank or so in it....I suspect I'll be replacing the Walbro 340M in its tank shortly

I expect that I will have issues after leaving E85 in my tank for a year. First thing I am doing when I get home is draining, pulling and taking the tank apart to inspect it. I really hope the Magnafuel 750 is okay.

Since it is a fabricated aluminum tank, I may take it to Brooks to have some sort of drain system welded into it. Right now, I have a billet plate on the very bottom with a -10an ORB plug but that is a huge fucking mess to pull the plug with 18gls of fuel on top of it. The easier it is to drain the less likely I am to leave it sitting for so long with fuel in it.

Anyone know where I can get rid of nearly 30 gallons of E85?

I've dropped off a lot of bad E85 and pump gas at our local recycling center, just had to bring ID and a water bill. I'm sure your town has something similar.
