Use the Summit valve cover gaskets. They are rubber with steel core and thicker than stock gaskets.

I sent him a pm on those valve covers, I'll feel more safe with those.

I just want to hear this b25 idle.

If It makes 300rwhp through gt40s I hope it makes more with my parts.

Ok...ok....I've been biting my tongue. I just cannot pass by the stupidity you just posted there, b/c if you knew at all what you were talking about you'd be aware that majority of the 70's were the worst years EVER for Ford engines, and the only thing that half-assed saved the 80's didn't come around until 85' when they started running roller 302's out of the factory....yeah they held up a lot better than years passed where numbers on the odo were concerned, but guess how much better they hold up after you add another ~75-100hp NA + ~125-150 on a power adder? From experience I'd say it cuts it 50% or greater. Add all that shit after it already cast a shadow over 100K of road, and...well....hope you have a lucky rabbit's foot!

BTW - that badass HCI car of yours running 8.30's....HELLO?...something is wrong with that, your proclaimed 40-years experience didn't set off a red flag that maybe that ain't right?....care to guess why its probably so slow? (reread the above paragraph if still dense to it) That's like bragging about having a 10" dick, but at the same time never able to get an erection. ....Or bragging about being a male porn star, but then later revealing you've only done gay porn.

BTW Mike - I'm not arguing your job here...you're learning if nothing else...bravo for diving in and getting your hands dirty....we all had to at one point, but man...a dingle ball hone, can of WD40, set of rings & bearings, and a new oil pump....$300 or less, and your knowledge would grow that much more. You keep saying how well it ran before, and I understand that....but you need to stop and think about the point that I made to this mo-mo above....you're adding H/C/I...it is going to make more power than it did before, and I'm betting some of those bearings are already showing gold....I'm a betting man tho.

                      • My old car had 200k on a never rebuilt short block (and never rebuilt t5 even) and u put hci and a 125 shot on it and it did fine never smoked, drive it daily for another 33k before I sold the whole setup in good working order to someone doing a 4 cyl. Swap. Had a tune and splashed a little race gas when I planned on spraying and was good to go.

Everybody has different experiences so I understand not all go that way.

Agreed . It has been done a million times with great results and I don't think this time will be any different . Like I said before if it lets go it's just a reason to go bigger and better . I know of lots of special service Mustangs that were sold with 100k plus miles on them then taken and had h/c/i and power adder combos put on and beat the snot out of . Most of the time when they let go its only because of bad tunes or guys pushing past the stock block hp limits . Its gonna run good and be lots of fun .
