      Under 5k? That doesn't sound fun at all. That's like, my rear end won't break if I don't put it to the floor until the 330'.

        Well it made right at 360hp NA at 4750 and then it was done. With 15 pounds by 5000 I assume I'm in the 600hp range. My HPX slot is at 4.9x volts by then anyway. Fuel system wouldn't take 6000 rpm. Stock lines and rails. Honestly it does feel a little strange shifting so low, but it keeps me smiling, and not breaking stuff keeps the old lady smilin. Ha ha ha! Plus the 4.56's make it feel extra stout.

            I remember seeing it at the last cruise. Looks like a fun truck.

                Yeah the trans got stuck in 1st and it reved to 6400+ and blew off the vacume hoses and blew trans fluid all over the exhaust. It had an S-Trim and a traction issue. Trapping at 90mph. The Novi should be far better.

                    That shortblock does look pretty nasty.... my 'vert with 140K mile original shortblock + 10,000 miles at 550rwhp looked better than that. I'm no expert, but it looks like it sat at the bottom of a lake or something!

                      Be sure to clean the heads and deck surface with a scotch brite disk like fore mentioned. That will help a lot.
