    PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I picked up an 88 F150 and I'm trying to get it on the road. The blinkers currently are not working!!
Who ever had this truck prior did some ghettofied rigging!!
    Hazards work, blinkers do not.

What appears to possibly be the relay is not attached in the fuse block and appears to have been toasty at one point and thus removed.

I can send you a pic for reference but can't post it.

I need to see if any one in the Saginaw/NFtW area would be willing to help me out and take a look. Beer, food, $$$$ all available as payment!!

It is drivable so I can come to you if needed. It's just not inspected yet (blinker issue)

    Thanks in advance folks!!!!!

Here is a pic of what i believe is suposed to be the signal???

Where it is suposed to be in the fuse panel it is not and this is there.
Note the athletic tape and wire nuts holding things together!!

I will try to spray it. I got it from an impound and it did sit for quite a long time.

That's the relay, buy a new one, and plug it into the fuse panel where it belongs. I have to wonder why it was rigged up like that though, does the panel look broken or corroded? A guess would be that it's not the correct relay, and he wired it up like that to get it to work, rather than buying the correct one to plug in.

The pic is the "attempted repair" apparently

Where it actually goes is burnt and there are no wires coming off the back of it as they have now been "repaired" as seen in the pic. No idea where the extra wire goes, if its the correct relay, why it burned, etc....

So any ideas or offers to look at it are GREATLY appreciated. I will be able to try stuff again to tomorrow after work while the sun is up if it isn't raining.

It was 3/10ths of half a quart low. Would that cause it?

I read on line it had to be more than 5/10ths of 3/4 of a quart low before it would matter? Was that not correct?

And does anyone know a good cheap place for muffler bearings? I think these are toast too??

Sounds like a previous relay fried the fuse panel, or the fuse panel itself and/or the wires connected to it fried. The correct fix would be to replace the fuse panel and group of wires connected to it, either with new or junkyard parts.

For a quick and cheap fix, trace all the wires and connections with a multimeter, see where the fault is, and repair it. Sounds like something came apart, or you've still got some fried wires.

I'd come take a look, but I live in Sacramento, and don't drink beer.

Oh, and the first and easiest thing to do is simply replace that relay, the wires could still be connected okay, but the relay is bad. This is by no means a permantent fix though, the crappy wiring and fuse box are the root of the problem, and need to be replaced.

Push it down to turn left. Pull it up to turn right.
