  • Stock push rods with guide plates?

Can you use stock pushrods with guide plates?

I was told to just use my stock ones as they should be fine. But was told today that the stock pushrods will not with with guide plates.

So I was going to order these.

If you're talking about using stock pushrods with aftermarket heads you'll need hardened rods and the length most likely will not be the same.

You can use them, but I wouldn't expect them to last more than a thousand miles. You need hardened pushrods for use with guideplates. If you've got a stock block and are running stock hydraulic lifters, you shouldn't have to get custom length pushrods. Stock will work. You will need to know the right way to adjust rockers though.

Ok, brodix advertises that stock length is what they need.

I have the heads at the machine shop now, getting them CCd and cleaned.

If they aren't already milled it should work just fine. I'll be checking the length once I get the heads on, before I order any just yet.

A few thousandths of head milling is not a problem with adjustable rockers. They're made that way to compensate for head milling, head gasket thickness, valve tip wear, and lash adjustment.

I'm not sure if mine are adjustable or not, theyre just trick flow 1.6 stud mount rockers.

I've got some TFS Chromoly 6.250" pushrods that I'm not using anymore. If that's what you need $20 and they're yours, I can even ship.

You should measure first. i used the Ford racing harden pushrods on my AFRs stock length.. they at pretty cheap.
